Solar Superstorm

UK can cope with solar superstorm

In case of solar superstorm struck the earth how well prepared UK’s infrastructure is and all what might is electricity blackouts.
Other problem might occur are disturbances with the Navigation system and aviation system, somehow it would be similar to the Icelandic volcano eruption [in 2010].

Our sun expose earth to smaller solarstorms which effected electronics devices through the years but it’s very rare to occur even though the National electric grid panel is prepared for such an event.

Satellites would be effected by these solarstorms so they were already made is a way that they can survive with minor damages and fixed as fast as possible that includes the GPS satellites.

Also damages to GPS would cause disturbance through the communications between ships and the navigation system.

How Aeroplane avionics are vulnerable and can be damaged easily with more contact with such an extreme sun rays.

How much of sun rays can a passenger take in normal conditions and what’s the dangerous amount.

Finally the RAEng recommends the UK government to take an extra precaution to space weather.
